When do Photographers edit their personal family images?
I decided to take a week and just go back and continue editing the million pictures I have taken of my kids over the past 11 years. Usually I get a few breaks early in the year and jump around in my hard drive to enjoy past memories and finish up my pictures to print. This session was in 2012. It feels like yesterday. The sun was too bright, the horse was old and trying to cooperate, Keziah was sweet and a challenge, most of all it was cold. She wanted to be done, but I was stubborn and wanted these pictures. I am glad I pushed over the years to capture her little self. I will cherish these images forever.
Keziah is my oldest child. She is the gorgeous baby that God blessed us with almost 12 years ago. We are close to her 12th Birthday coming up in June and I realize that without her, I might never have opened up my own studio. I have always been interested in Photography and played around with cameras. I am an Artist and it was a fun way to express how I see the world. I was working in offices in the Cooperate World when I decided to break away and work in a studio. Once we had Keziah, she became my Muse. I never looked back. I miss these early years with her cute curls, big blue eyes, giggles and dressing her up. These images are part of my story as a Photographer. A big part of how I learned that Child & Newborn Photography with Family Photography sprinkled in will always be my Niche.
